Groundfloor

Groundfloor was formed by Ólafur Tómas Guðbjartsson guitarist and singer and Haraldur Gudmundsson doublebassist in Reykjavik 2003 in Reykjavik. In 2005 Groundfloor recorded their first EP "Live zu hause" with Thorbjörn Thor Emilsson on drums and Jón Óskar Guðlaugsson on trumper and flugelhorn along guests and is that ep for long sold out. The same year Groundfloor recorded material for the first LP "Bones" which was first released in 2008, with same personnel. In the year 2006 Ólafur moved to Copenhagen Denmark and Haraldur moved to Salzburg Austria where Groundfloor began distributing their new release "Bones" on great rewiews and acceptance of the Austrian listeners. 2009 Groundfloor toured through austria, Germany and Italy with great success and following the tour recorded material for their second LP with new members. Thorvaldur Thorvaldsson on drums, Harpa Thorvaldsdottir on piano and Julia Czerniawska on violin played on the "..this i what´s left of it", which was released in january 2011. In february the same year Groundfloor wnt on a short tour through Austria to present the new record. And 2..this is what´s left of it" got great rewievs both in Iceland and abroad.

mYOUsic.is is a website covering most musical aspects of doublebassist/composer Haraldur Gudmundsson. His icelandic acoustic rock band Groundfloor, his vocal jazz trio Sound Post and Jazz/rock trio Baad Roots. Myousic.is host also contacts and information regarding doublebass lessons and session work.
